Kristina

Currently living in: Dracut, Massachusetts, but originally from CT and any post with my mom who is currently living with stage 4 cancer is in CT

Occupation: I am behind a microscope the majority of my workdays analyzing building materials to determine if they contain asbestos- but while I’m doing the work and managing the business as laboratory supervisor, I also helped START  the company, Optimum Analytical and Consulting, located in Salem, NH.
Favorite way to sweat: right now I’m injured, so it is the Peloton- and I have a suite of favorite instructors! If it wasn’t 2020 and I hadn’t literally run myself into the ground I’d say my favorite way to sweat is running! and the how is any way my kids aren’t being entertained by me WHILE I’m running. I don’t mind pushing a stroller, I do mind jumping off the tread many times to fulfill requests.  My favorite running workout is probably intervals timed by the minute and varying throughout @ 5-10k effort. Or long marathon pace efforts- my favorite pre injury workout this year was a long run (while Boston was still in the mix)- with  long warm up (4 miles, I think)  and then 10 at marathon, long (4 mi) cool Down.  (Coached by Lift Run Perform, coach Katie)
For peloton I’m very much into the power zone classes, which mimic running workouts and keep you feeling like an athlete even when you aren’t in your own sport (and I can only imagine how much bikers/Triathletes love it!)

Gear: most functional: the pony hole hat.  I live NORTH of Boston, this hat gets used October to literally May. I love not having a sweaty braid itching my neck and I can have my long hair up.
Most inspirational:” Don’t let a Hill Break Your Heart “ tank.  I ran CIM in  2018, to qualify for Boston 2020- and I did it.  I also ran a qualifying time in Chicago 2019.  But low and behold the 2020 race went virtual, and I registered, but did not start due to injury. Instead I wore my Boston shirt and rode 50 miles in honor of the marathon Labor Day weekend on my (not peloton at that point) bike. It took me approximately a Boston qualifying time to do it!

Quote: I don’t have one. I’m a mantra person lol and I’m not sure exactly where the most popular ones come from these days. If someone rides Peloton, they are surely acquainted with Christines “I can I Am I Will I do”- which I think people need to commit to memory. Other mantras include: “light feet, fast legs “ , and the inelegant “go f* s* up “ (source- everyone??)

Location Horsham, PA

Occupation: Social Worker / Essential Oil Enthusiast

Favorite Way to Sweat: Walking, Running, and all things Peloton lately...

Favorite piece of HTA Gear: Oh man, just one??!?  Honestly, my green "strong as a mother" Tshirt is one of my FAVES but I LOVE all my motivating tanks and super warm hats too!!  I can't pick just one :P.

Favorite Quote: Well... I'm terrible at remembering quotes, but "She believed she could so she did" has been somewhat of a life mantra.  However, in terms of running, I only started running a couple years ago when my daughters Girls On the Run team needed another coach so I signed up and even though you didn't need to run to coach, it didn't feel right to support these girls to move their bodies in that way without me doing it as well.  So, my first 5K was on my 40th BDay during our Girls On the Run season 2.5 years ago. Since running... the quotes that stand out the most to me specific to running are: "We can do hard things..." and "when you can no longer run with your feet, run with your heart" (which I used a lot running my first 1/2 marathon 2/2020 in Disney).

Katie

Location: Chester, NH

Occupation: I have been working in the Human Resources field at some capacity for over 15 years... when I am not doing that.. I am Full-Time Mom of 2 girls, Part-Time Photographer... and newly added (thanks 2020) Full-Time remote teacher.

Favorite Way to Sweat: Running. I am currently at 4 marathons, a few dozen half-marathons. I started a run streak on March 14th of this year!!! I have run at least 3 miles... every single day. All of which have been outside!!! I plan on continuing the run streak for as long as I can... My goal is at least one year  BUT hope to go longer!!! I recently purchased a bike and really enjoyed the challenge an indoor bike brings to my workouts!! It has made me a stronger/faster runner!!! My 2021 goal is to run a 50 mile ultra-marathon.

Favorite piece of HTA Gear: Between the months of October and March... you can find me wearing 1 of the 10 fleece lined hats I own!!!! -Although, I recently just added more to my collection!!! I am a huge fan of the tank tops and shorts too!! Honestly, it is tough to pick just one item as a favorite!!!!

Favorite Quote: "Just Be" Two words. Two simple words that mean so much to me. After my Mom was given a terminal diagnosis in 2019, I asked her if she was scared. She looked at me at said... "there is nothing I can do, so I am going to "Just Be" Regardless of what life throws at you, happy, sad, scary etc.. Remember to Just Be. Take life as it comes and enjoy the moment-whatever that moment may be. I lost my Mother 2 weeks after her diagnosis. I have made it a goal to inspire others and lift others up.. to remind them that they are capable of doing ANYTHING!!!

Location: I'm originally from Massachusetts. I'm currently living in Ohio. I'm moving to California really soon.

Occupation: I work in special education as a paraprofessional to students with autism at a Catholic school. After the school day is over, I help a 16 year old boy with autism run around his community.

Favorite way to sweat: I love being active, so I enjoy doing a lot of different activities. However, there are some that I like doing more than others. My top three favorite ways to sweat are Orangetheory classes, playing ice hockey (I'm a goalie), and running.

Favorite piece of HTA gear: I really do love the sweat wicking headbands. It was the first HTA gear that I bought. I couldn't believe how perfect it was for wearing inside my goalie mask. It was thin enough that it didn't mess up the fit of my helmet. It was wide enough to keep my hair back and act as a nice buffer between my forehead and my helmet's nasty sweatband.
